I have always believed that the best solutions come from collaboration. Thank you to Patrick Coombe for sharing your creation and skills to make Lotus a more innovative community. Patrick has created a functional prototype that centralizes and streamlines all Lotus necessities in one convenient place.
While this is an exciting step forward, formal implementation would require several stages of approval.
This is just the beginning. I look forward to sharing more of my ideas—brought to life alongside some of the most talented experts in our community. Stay tuned!
My goal is to bring order and clarity to our board meetings, which have become increasingly chaotic and lack a great deal of transparency. I will work to ensure all business is conducted at board meetings as it should be.
I will work with other board members to follow and establish regularly scheduled board meetings that have detailed agendas, with financial information and give the opportunity for members of the community as required by law to speak on each agenda topic for three minutes. Once all have spoken, that topic will be closed. This will follow Robert's Rules of order and allow for members of the community to better follow and absorb information.
I believe in fostering open communication between residents and the board, and I plan to implement several channels for feedback and discussion while removing the open forum chaos from board meetings.
One key initiative will be the introduction of resident feedback forums, modeled after town hall meetings, held once or twice a month. These informal gatherings will provide a welcoming space for residents to share their concerns, discuss issues, and collaborate on solutions in a relaxed setting. Together, we can create a more engaged and connected community, ensuring every voice is heard at a convenient time.
Crowdsourcing works. I am proposing to implement a feature on our community website that allows residents to report issues around the community at the touch of a button. If you’re walking your dog and notice a broken box or a utility box cover missing, you can snap a photo that captures the reporter information, time, date, and location, There will also be a space to briefly describe the issue before submitting the report.
Submitted issues will be filtered to the appropriate email based on the category selected from a drop-down menu, which will include options such as:
- Security
- Landscaping
- Safety
- Maintenance
- Rules & Regulations
This initiative aims to enhance communication and ensure that community issues are addressed efficiently. After all, it takes a village.
I am committed to maintaining open communication and accessibility. I believe that transparency and accessibility are vital for effective governance and for building trust within our community.
If elected, I will prioritize the following:
-Dedicated Communication Channel: I will establish a dedicated Lotus Board email address to streamline communication and ensure that resident inquiries are addressed efficiently.
-Responsive to Inquiries: I will be readily available to address resident questions and concerns, responding promptly and thoroughly to all inquiries.
To maintain a smooth flow of information and ensure that all matters are handled effectively, I will encourage residents to adhere to a future established clear communication protocol. This will help to guarantee that all concerns are directed to the appropriate channels and addressed in a timely manner.
I believe that accessibility and transparency are not just good practices, but essential elements of a healthy and thriving community. By encouraging open communication and ensuring that all residents have access to information and a voice in the decision-making process, we can build a stronger, more connected community where everyone feels valued and heard.
I will encourage fellow board members to embrace these principles by:
-Leading by Example: I will consistently demonstrate the value of transparency and accessibility in my own actions and communications.
-Open Dialogue: I will initiate discussions with fellow board members about the importance of these principles and how we can collectively improve our practices.
-Resident Feedback: I will encourage the board to actively seek and consider resident feedback on our communication and accessibility efforts.
I believe that by working together, we can create a community where everyone feels informed, engaged, and empowered to participate in shaping our shared future.
